Below is a recognition award program that I invite you to consider and distribute. It is a chance to honor YOUR heroic employees. Please feel free to pass this information along to anyone in hopes of identifying potential candidates.  There is not a specific form or format; a narrative description of the action that would warrant recognition would be great. To all Gulf Intracoastal Canal Association (GICA) members and friends of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW),

Please consider submitting nominations for this year’s Dale Miller Award to be presented at our 107^th Annual GICA Convention in New Orleans, August 15-17, 2012.

As most of you know, GICA takes this yearly opportunity to recognize acts of selfless heroism in our waterways industry, while honoring Dale’s memory. Over the past two years, no nominations were submitted. I hope this means our waterways were so safe that heroes weren’t needed. I suspect, however that sometimes our quiet professionals simply aren’t recognized for the great things they’ve done.

Please review your operations this year and let me know of potential awardees as soon as possible, but no later than July 20^th.
